These are news releases I wrote for the Peel District School Board that highlight school events, activities and student and staff achievements. This involved reaching out to staff, students and board staff for detailed information, identifying the appropriate media contact and reference, sharing the release on the board’s website and social media accounts and media outreach.
In some instances, noteworthy Spotlight on School’s submissions were further developed into longer stories and shared on the “News Release” section of the board website.
These releases resulted in media coverage and increased awareness of school and board-wide events and promoted school and student achievements to the wider community.
