I SAID YES!!

As posted on Facebook on Monday, to give some context to my readers:

Last year was such a whirlwind filled with wonderful moments, from completing my postgrad in Corporate Communications and graduating with High Honours, to being offered a job with the Peel District School Board as their Communications Assistant, beating out 500+ applicants, to my last days at Artisano and venturing off to Cuba for the holidays with my fam & Sean, all the while being surrounded by the best friends and fam a girl could ask for

The holiday in Cuba was amazing and was topped off by something special on December 30th, a proposal from a sweet, fun-loving, caring, amazing guy who I love very much, my boyfriend and now fiancé of over a month, Sean Phillip Greenberg! That’s right, he proposed and I SAID YES!! 😀

After visiting my Ba (grandma) yesterday and receiving her blessing, it’s exciting to share this news on here! Sean and I are so happy and can’t wait to start planning for a few years down the road

That’s right folks, HE PROPOSED AND I SAID YES!! Cue the awwwwws and OMGs. What can I say, I am just over the moon with excitement!! It’s still surreal and very much “ahhhh OMG”, in the best of ways. It’s like whoaa, we’re fiancé and fiancée! No big deal.

The ring is stunning! Sean was telling me how he didn’t want to get the usual diamond ring so he went with something extraordinary. The blue stone is a blue topaz (my birthstone) and there are diamonds and white gold surrounding it on the band. It really means a lot, the thought and time he took into picking the ring. Been getting quite a few compliments, which I’ve been passing on to Sean hehe. I actually only got the ring once we were back from Cuba, Sean figured it’d be best not to bring it along. We actually had some fun and used a cigar wrapper as my temporary ring haha.

It’s an exciting time, the past month or so has just been a whirlwind! New year, new job, engaged- I smile thinking about how everything has been slowly but surely coming together. I’m so grateful for everything that has happened. I’ve found myself thinking of my dad, my bapuji (grandpa) and my Ma (maternal grandma), knowing that they would be so happy and proud. I forever cherish them in my heart.

Like anyone who’s gotten engaged, my mind is full of ALL sorts of ideas!! Not surprisingly, I had to start a little wedding planning book, just to start jotting down all these ideas. We’ll only really start planning once Sean finishes school in April, but it’s great to start organizing. Plus, I can’t help, but peruse Pinterest for inspiration! So many fun things on there.

It’s truly something special when you meet someone who is that one, not only that, but it happening at the right time in your life. That’s the case with Sean and I. I’m so happy and we’re both looking forward to starting this next chapter together.

We’d been slowly telling friends and family last month and it was very important to me to get my Ba’s (paternal grandma) blessing. I wanted her to hear the news in person and only from me & Sean. She was so happy when we told her and has such an appreciation for the arts, especially since my Bapuji was a talented artist, having studied art, so she loved seeing some of Sean’s artwork.

Anyways I felt like a blog post was in order for this huge life event. A HUGE thank you to all my friends and family for their well wishes and kind words, it really means a lot.

And Sean, I love you lots. We’re a crazy pair and I can’t wait for the rest of our lives together ♥

xoxo Avi
